High Pressure Propane
Cast Burners and
Pipe Burners
We sell high quality cast iron propane burners. Each
one of our cast burners, pipe burners, and jet burners are bench tested and
optimized for high gas efficiency. Outdoor
cookers normally use high pressure burners because they give you much higher
heat output that a low pressure burner. LOW
PRESSURE burners require either natural gas or a low pressure propane gas regulator
if your fuel source is a propane tank. Propane supplied in a trailer home or
RV normally has the propane gas already adjusted to a very low pressure at
the propane source. LOW PRESSURE burners give heat comparable to that of a
gas stove top burner in your kitchen. Preset LOW PRESSURE propane
regulators are set at 6 ounces. Natural gas pressure in most areas is
10 ounces and requires only a on/off valve to attenuate the flame. We
also sell custom pipe burners.
See Additional Needle Control Valves with custom Gas Orifices
in the GAS ORIFICE FITTINGS section. We ship everywhere in the
world... and the shipping is free to the 48 contiguous US states.
Cast Iron
Burner with 4" neck -
●
It produces up to 160,000 BTU/hr and does so in an evenly directed
manner. Like the HPCAST6 and HPB6 units this propane cast burner comes
with a 3/8" flare fitting and an air shutter.
●
We have also outfitted
these cast iron propane burners with our Insect Guard screen. Most outdoor
cooking appliances are usually stored in areas where small insects, such as
spiders and "dirt dobbers" set up housekeeping. These insects have an
annoying habit of building their nest inside small dark places, which
includes the inside of a cast iron burner. Any obstruction in the cast
causes a reduction in its performance and requires the propane cast burner to be
disassembled and cleaned. Our Insect Guard screen helps prevent this
problem.
●
Optimum working distance from top of cast to bottom of heated
surface is 4 to 5".
●
Diameter of burner head is 4".
●

Great to adjust flame height on custom Pipe Burners
●
We stock 32", 44", 56",
and 68" pipe burners assemblies (as measured from one end of the pipe to the
opposite end of the pipe's threads.) We can custom make longer
lengths.
●
The pipe burners are 1.25"ID and 1.5"OD
with a standard 3/16" pipe wall thickness. These assemblies include a
threaded pipe cap at one end and a venturi at
the other end.
●
The first eight inches
of the pipe is used as the "throat" of the burner and does not have any holes
for flames. The 32" burner has 22" of flame, the 44" burner has
34" of flame, the 56" burner has 46" of flame, and the 68"
burner has 58" of flame.
●
In measuring
your available space remember that the screw on pipe cap on the threads at
the end of the pipe will add ~0.75" to the
total length but you will lose a little of the total length in running the pipe through
the wall of your cooker before you screw on the venturi.
●
For supporting
the assembly
we recommend a cradle out of a well supported length of angle iron. A
cradle support will permit easy removal of the burner unit for cleaning,
when necessary.
●
Our pipe burners have been engineered
and bench tested and adjusted to give an even, high heat blue flame
across the length of the pipe and they easily light.
Don't waste your propane on a
pipe burner that gives an inefficient yellow flame.
